Coarse indeed. Young newlyweds involved in private banter. (You know who you are!) Not uttered loud enough for everybody to hear, but I caught it and shamed them publicly! Don't worry John, we're not running some kind of Houghtonesque wikibiblestudy over here. We prize holiness as one of the four marks of the church universal, along with catholicity, apostolicity and unity (Thank you very much Dr. Gore. See I am retaining stuff!)
Dylan- It's nowhere near as crazy as the small group of 2008. We spend considerably less time debating the merits of marijuana for one. There were some truly unprintable overheards from that year. To use an analogy you Dakota types would understand, I felt a bit like Custer at the Little Big Horn on some of those nights.
Steve- I agree. Not that bad, especially in its full context, but there is enough of a chance that someone might draw some erroneous conclusions about my life and ministry (perhaps even Idyllwild Bible Church) that I felt compelled to take it down. Being in church leadership requires that I strive to be above reporach. Posting the latter quote on the BFZ represented a lapse in judgment. Perhaps this entire blog is just one big lapse in judgment. Hmmm...
This is a hot topic, but not that big of a deal. Josh and Sarah run a great small group I can vouch for the insight and skill it takes to keep so many personalities interested and focused. Besides God likes Baby making.

Sounds like we missed a good one.
I'm just curious - did anyone express in any way that the latter utterance was too coarse? I really don't like that phrase.

Second quote removed. What can I say? The man was right.
Wow. You really think it's that bad? Bad enough to remove?
Now I wish I had read the second quote...
Sounds like our old Bible study nights!

I don't think that it was bad. John has a sensitive spirit, though, and possibly should be used as a canary down the mine shaft of the BFZ.

"Bite me" belongs to the world. Use it and be worldly.
