You have to look beyond the sermon. Take all that you have learned about the scriptures and weigh it carefully to what your heart tells you, as a true believer in Jesus Christ that God resides in your own heart more powerfully than from "the pulpit of mere men."

Study its history. See where the concept of original sin comes from -- and inspite of what Genesis explains to us you have to see what that debate between "St. Augustine vs. Pelagius" lead to all of these denominational splits throughout the centuries.

Ask about those 2 men to your pastors. Do not allow them to be cryptic. Get the straight answer from them on this subject. Ideas are the basis of civilization, after all?
