THE VIEW FROM MY HOUSE- COMPOSITE SKETCHES FRIGHTEN ME

Why do they freak me out so? I really find them kind of unnerving, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is that bothers me about them. Photos of suspects don't usually have the same affect on me. Just artist renderings. Anybody?

Perhaps it's an uncanny valley problem, akin to robots that look too much like people but still clearly aren't. Add to that the dire allegations that generally presage a composite sketch and you have the ingredients for a good unnerving.

I think it's the eyes. Cold and heartless. Void of human life and emotion.

Those are both good theories. All I know is that I might delete this post so I don't have to scroll past their creepy, unblinking eyes of evil every time I check in at the BFZ. I probably won't delete them though. I'll just try to bury them in a flurry of fluff-posts.

I like fluff posts. Then again, I like your debate ones, too. This one, well, the last dude is staring at me from next to the comment box. It's freaking me out. I gotta go...so I can scroll away...
