FEBRUARY 18th

The Bummer-Free Zone has a flag, a constitution, a national motto, a national sport, and a national anthem. Now I feel like the BFZ needs a national day. The United States has Independence Day (July 4th), France has Bastille Day (July 14th), Canada has the unimaginative Canada Day (July 1st), but what about the BFZ. Is not the birth of this virtual fiefdom whose culture is joy worthy of celebration?

The BFZ national council (comprised of your's truly) has submitted a recommendation to King Joshua that a national holiday be declared on february 18th, the date of the very first BFZ post in 2006. King Joshua quickly approved of the plan declaring between bites of roast goose, "Indeed, yea, verily! Make it so! Now, away with you. The King must nap."  A committee has been formed (comprised of yours truly) to name and plan the holiday. We'll keep you posted on the committee's recommendations.

Long live the king! (Also your's truly. Clearly the next thing the BFZ needs is a population.)

king? I think you previously referred to the ruler of said unpopulated nation-state as something other than a king, president maybe? No matter. Word on the street is most people refer to him as a dictator. Soooo, you might need to put out a poll about how the people view the BFZ's leader.

No need for such a poll. I am very much satisfied with myself.
